How To Join

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practical Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years of age on their last birthday. A practical Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. Application forms are available from any member of the Knights of Columbus or in the flyer rack in the narthex of the church. Every knight is happy to propose eligible Catholic men for consideration as members.

All priests and religious brothers having duly made application for membership and participated in the ceremonials become honorary life members of the Order and are exempt from payment of dues.

Application for membership can be made through the council in the community nearest the applicant's place of residence. Interested prospects without a permanent domicile, such as men temporarily away from home through duty in the armed forces, may make application through their hometown council or at the nearest council on a military base.  Acceptance of the applicant depends upon a vote of the members of the council in which he is making application.

To join the Knights of Columbus you must fill out a yellow and white Form 100 application for membership which can be found in the pamplet racks in the foyer of St. Paul’s Church on the left just as you walk through the front door. Once the form 100 is filled out you can leave the completed form in the KofC mailbox in the office. Our membership director will contact you to begin the process of joining the Knights of Columbus. A few members of the council will meet with you at the Admissions committee meeting where we will explain a bit about the history of the Knights of Columbus, the workings of the order, and answer any questions you may have. Upon completion of the admissions committee meeting you can attend a First Degree ceremony where you become a member of the Knights of Columbus. First Degrees are held at St. Paul’s every other month as well as monthly at several other parishes in the Austin Diocese.

One may also join the Knights of Columbus as an affiliate member directly at the Supreme Membership website and transfer into Council 10209.
